- Grippy & durable sole: Suede soles on their own slip easily, especially on wet pedals. A rubber sole or at least partial rubber coating is helpful.
- Toe shape: Very pointy models look cool, but when pedaling, the toe area can feel pressure or uncomfortable.
- Cuff/Heel: Slip-ons/loafers are practical for quickly getting in and out of the bike, but if the heel is too loose, the shoe can slip while pedaling.
- Care: Suede doesn't tolerate moisture well — if you're often outdoors, on your bike, etc., waterproofing spray and a suede brush should be part of your gear.
