Our Hydrate Blend balances excess Vata with grounding, soothing herbs. Ashwagandha, a traditional Ayurvedic adaptogenic root, combines with the moisturizing properties of shatavari, licorice, and cinnamon to deeply rehydrate, restore, and nourish the body.
KEY INGREDIENTS:
Ashwagandha
One of the most important Ayurvedic herbs, Ashwagandha root has been used for over 3,000 years to relieve stress, increase energy, and improve focus. Its name means "smell of the horse" in Sanskrit, referring to its unique scent and strength-enhancing effects. Considered an adaptogen, it helps the body and mind cope with stress and anxiety and even lower cortisol levels. Many of its profound health benefits are due to its high concentration of withanolides, which have been shown to inhibit inflammation and tumor growth. This miracle root has even been proven to fight cancer cells and inhibit the growth of new ones. Ashwagandha is also rich in antioxidants, effectively combating free radical damage.
Shatavari
Considered the "Queen of Ayurvedic Herbs," Shatavari is the cooling, feminine counterpart to Ashwagandha. Shatavari literally means "one hundred roots," but can also be translated as "the woman with one hundred husbands." A somewhat bizarre concept, but there's a reason for it. Shatavari has special benefits for the female reproductive system, strengthening it so much that, ideally, a woman could have one hundred husbands if she so desired! It's an adaptogen, meaning it regenerates the body and mind and restores balance to the nervous and immune systems. Shatavari bestows strength, wisdom, and infinite love, which it shares with everyone it meets. Thanks to its cooling properties, Shatavari has anti-inflammatory properties and moisturizes the skin and body.
Licorice
Licorice has a calming effect on the mind and soul and is considered a sattvic, or harmonious, herb in Ayurveda. The sweet-tasting root strengthens and moisturizes the body's mucous membranes, thus hydrating from within. According to Dr. Frawley, licorice also nourishes the brain, increases cerebrospinal fluid and cerebrospinal fluid, and acts as an expectorant. This potent root also improves voice, eyesight, hair, and complexion.
Flaxseed
Flaxseed is one of the oldest dietary fiber plants and has been used in Ayurvedic medicine for thousands of years. Flaxseed is rich in healthy fats, antioxidants, protein, fiber, vitamins, minerals, and omega-3 fatty acids. We use flaxseed in our Hydrate Blend tea for its soothing effect, which helps the body retain moisture and absorb nutrients.
